She’s Jane

I have a pal and her name is Jane,
She stumbled on my blog and we became friend,
“You write in English lah!” was her comment,
I forgave her inane cos I know she’s insane.

She’s lively, warm and full of wits,
She’ll make you bray, feeling young and gay,
Stretch your collar dear and show me your tits,
Is the crazy game that she likes to play.

She rides a black car and called it Blackie,
And she love Blackie so very dearly,
Even sometime she can be very speedy,
But she knows the different between safety and a tree.

Although she don’t play football like Messy do,
She knows the game I tell you,
Run away now you fans of MU,
Cos Liverpool and Jane will make you cry and wear tutu.

She's a lady but no mean Barbie,
She'll kick you in the ass should you be naughty,
Oh my dear Jane I don't mean to be a cry baby,
I miss you now and I miss you deeply...

Ngidam

Ok mungkin agak keterlaluan kalau aku kata aku ngidam nak jadi muda balik.

Tapi kalau boleh apa salahnya kan? *posing Karam Sigh Walia

While everyone else is talking about bayi kena kelar dan budak kena langgar, aku dan member-member aku were actually bercakap pasal benda-benda 'retro' yang kitorang rindu nak tengok balik. Sebab kitorang kuat makan, kitorang bercakap le pasal junk food dulu-dulu.

Don't get us wrong. Not that we don't care about these young children. It's inhumane and stupid but I shall not write about it here when everyone else is doing that.

Ok where were we?

Right, pasal makanan yang pernah kita makan time kita muda-muda dulu.

Sorry pasal kualiti gambar. Aku amik dari Google jer.

Amacam?

Retro tak?

Dulu selalu jugak beli benda-benda kat atas ni lepas sekolah.

Makan dengan comelnya sementara tunggu bas balik rumah...

Sambil pintal-pintal rambut...

...

...

Antara Wardina dan Yuna

"Nampak macam Wardina tak?" Tanya member sekuliah aku, sambil menggayakan tudung ala-ala Wardinanya.

"Wardina? Macam Wardiah ada la." Jawab aku. Mukanya ditarik panjang, tanda OREN.

That was back in 2001 when Wardina Safiyyah stirred a nationwide storm of wearing Pashmina as a tudung, which was then simply reffered as Tudung Wardina. Everyone wanted to look like her, thus bringing tonnes of moolah to Jalan Petaling's business seekers..

Suddenly everyone look pretty and wife-worthy...

Lepas tu muncul plak fenomena tudung tutup-separuh dan nampak-jambul yang dimonopoli oleh I-dare-not-to-mention-name-I-shouldn't-be-mentioning which brought the phrase alang-alang-menyeluk-perkasam-biar-sampai-ke-pangkal-lengan to a whole new level.

Jangan la pakai kalau tak nak pakai yer dak?

Buat semak mata jer.

Sorry kalau ada yang terasa yer.

Duta hairspray kita pun pernah beberapa kali dilihat mengenakan tudung dengan style ni.

Now, limelight tertumpu pulak kepada gadis muda bersuara lunak, Yuna. Sesuai dengan vibe muda dan funky yang cuba ditonjolkannya, style tudungnya berjaya mengubah tanggapan gadis bertudung is not fashionable enough.

Even guys are tempted to adopt this tudung craze.

Exhibit A...

Being sentimental

Seseorang pernah berkata, "All this while I ingat you ni sentimental. Rupanya tak."

Kalau ikutkan memang aku nak rasa OREN tapi deep in me, aku sedikit setuju dengan tuduhan orang tu.

You see, actually aku dulu sangat sentimental orangnya.

Agak gigih jugak aku minta member isi buku skrap aku tu. Macam-macam yang diorang tulis. Most of it are of course kata-kata semangat.

But as I grow up, I barely have time to glance back and smile to those sugary words in the scrap book.

They can just copy paste jer kata-kata semangat dari buku dan internet. As long as it sound good. But do they really know what it means?

Do they?

We were naive back then. It was a no-frill life without responsibilities and bills. Life was so good that we will agree to almost everything.

Dont get me wrong. I have nothing against being sentimental and all. I just dont believe in words copied from someone else's poetic mind. I believe in self experience that make us better and stronger.

Aku dah tak simpan buku skrap lama aku and that doesn't mean I am not sentimental. Kalau korang perasan, most of my writings are of sentimental values.

Siyes aku tak rasa OREN pun.

I can be retro too

Semua orang tahu aku lahir tahun 1996. So maknanya umur aku sekarang 15 tahun le. *posing pocong ngensot

Tapi macamana kalau aku lahir tahun 1930?

Camner la agaknya rupa aku ek?

Adakah aku akan secomel sekarang?

Mari kita tengok.

Jeng jeng jeng...

Gambar yang last tu aku tak tau datang dari mana.

Sumpah!

Caya lah...

Can you spot the not?

Dear diary,

It’s been a while eih? Yeah I think so too. Anyway I ran the city the other day through KL Rate Race and boy I’ve never felt so good about myself. I’ve completed the 4.5 km run and survived to tell you this story.

I am not a runner you see, although I consider myself as a person who always runs away from problems. I am indeed very good at it.

Yeay me!

As glad as one can be, one cannot say no when He say yes. Kun-fa-ya-kun they say. I felt sick the next day and I opted for a medical leave. “Dear handsome boss. I am sick today. I know I’ve been very sickening to everyone in the office lately but really, I am sick today. Tengs…”

And so I went to the clinic and started to narrate my bad day to the poor doctor. On how I ran across KL, went through some rapid volcanic flames, fought with feisty dragons and then jumped some extreme cliffs, got my kaki aches and eventually caught fever after that. She nodded and prescribed me some meds.

But no medical leave chit…

I was like, “Eh no MC? I am not working today cos I’m sick.”

She was like, “No MC. I think your body temperature is close to normal and your feet are just fine.”

I was like, “............…”

And so today I have to fill in an EMERGENCY LEAVE form instead of a MEDICAL LEAVE form.

Here is the form. But something is terribly wrong with the form.

Can you spot the not?

Yours truly,

Me

The darn train made my water face drop

Selepas dua bulan drive ke tempat keje, aku rasa agak jakun sikit bila aku start naik tren balik minggu lepas. Aku rasa seronok pulak macam mula-mula aku keje kat KL dulu.

Memang kalau boleh, aku nak melompat-lompat manja sambil pintal-pintal rambut all the way ke stesen. Tapi aku risau nanti orang kata aku biul plak.

So macam biasa aku jalan dengan handsomenya...

Aku on the other hand tak bernasib baik. Drama jatuh terduduk kat KLCC berulang lagi.

Kalau kat Kokdiang, mungkin aku dah masuk front-page dah.

AKUBUKANSUPERMAN: Moral of the story, jakun and control macho doesn't go well together...

My Singapore explore

Dubbed as a FINE city, Singapore is not always about dollars and ringgit. The term FINE deliminates beyond just that. Its clean, its hip and its where old meets new.

No matter if you are a discount stalker or a culture vulture, Singapore and its 5.18 million souls will never fail you.

Last weekend was not my first visit to this wonderful island city. But it was definitely the most that I've seen out of it.

I went to the doubtlessly fun Universal Studio in Sentosa and I never felt like a kid since the longest time I can imagine, that I can hug another guy in a cartoon character without a glitch of incredulity.

I might be too expressive in ventilating my adoration, but there’s nothing too shabby about the efforts that have been put into the conservation of the yesteryear buildings in Singapore.

Who would knew old Peranakan shop-houses along the Arab Street can be so hip thus deserving equal glorification as that of the 21st century skyscrapers.

Singapore is indeed a small island city with a big variety of everything and unique is the word that best describes it.

It’s a city with numerous memorable experiences waiting to be discovered; food, cultures, clean toilets and chewing gums...

If you manage to find one...

AKUBUKANSUPERMAN: Call me pussy, but no I didn't took the roller-coaster ride at the theme park...
