Slumdog Millionaire’s Q&A

Many have watched and admired the movie. They said it’s like a breath of fresh air to the Hollywood’s film industry. The movie has won big time in winning a few Oscars thus bringing home some of its shining trophies back to India, the land where it all started.

The movie may be directed by a foreigner, but the original novel has been a brainchild of an Indian diplomat and writer; Vikas Swarup.

The novel tells a story of a young English spoken but illiterate waiter named Ram Mohammad Thomas who has won 1,000,000,000 Rupees in the Who Will Win a Billion quiz show. He got lucky to have answered all 12th questions correctly, amusing the whole nation but not the company that license the show.

Borrowing some of the Bollywood’s clichéd and ready-made storyline, Ram soon realized that he was ‘the bad guy’ and got arrested. Being an uneducated boy who lived in a slum, he was accused for cheating his win. That was when all the adventures began.

Vikas Swarup cleverly narrated the novel in a flash back fashion, revealing the true stories behind every correct answer to all the 12th questions. It’s a fast-beat novel, jam-packed with actions and drama. Don’t be surprised (I won't) if you can finish reading the whole 318 pages in lesser time needed than to watch Kaho Na Pyar Hay and Devdas combined!

"Well, wasn't I lucky that they asked only those questions to which I knew the answers?"

I’MNOSUPERMANLAH: I yet to watch the movie though...
